Xcode 16 is the latest version and has new features that should improve our dev experience including:

  • AI code completion
  • faster SwiftUI Previews
  • Swift testing

We should officially upgrade by bumping .xcode-version after fixing the following issues:

  • Fix swiftui previews
  • Fix warnings
  • Fix tab bar on Mac/iPad

Additionally, Xcode 15 does not run on macOS Sequoia, so we'll need to keep at least one engineer's machine on macOS Sonoma. I've been holding off on upgrading but it's painful, so I'd like to upgrade to Xcode 16 right away.
