Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Derive the launcher path from %~dp0 in the .cmd wrapper.

Line 60 puts the literal launcherPath into the batch script. launcherPath comes from stateDir. cmd.exe treats a single unmatched % in that path as a parameter or variable reference. The path is then misread and the launcher fails to start.

agent-device.cmd and agent-device-launcher.mjs are in the same directory. %~dp0 avoids the problem for this path. The node path stays literal. It comes from PATH, so it is less likely to contain %.

Add a Windows regression test with a % in the state directory name.

Based on learnings: in .cmd launchers, avoid interpolating raw paths that may contain %; derive self-referential paths with %~dpn0/%~dp0.

Review comment at @apps/server/src/device/AgentDeviceShim.ts at line 60:
Update the Windows batch script in the device shim to derive the colocated
agent-device-launcher.mjs path from %~dp0 instead of interpolating launcherPath,
while keeping the node path literal. Add a Windows regression test using a state
directory whose name contains % and verify the launcher starts successfully.

Agreed that a % in the state directory or node path would break the .cmd. That pattern predates this PR: main's unbound shim already writes the literal launcher path into agent-device.cmd. Here the session directories are t3-<hash> and add no %. I'd rather fix it for both launchers in the shared writeLauncher (%~dp0agent-device-launcher.mjs) together with a Windows test that actually runs the .cmd. No test does today, so I'll do that as a follow-up instead of an untested change here.

@gabrielelpidio Agreed. The diff confirms that the unbound shim already used the literal launcher path. A follow-up in shared writeLauncher, with a Windows test that runs the .cmd, is reasonable. This remains deferred, not fixed.

Would you like me to open a GitHub issue for the follow-up?

File: packages/provider-muse/src/server/sdk.ts:130-130
Timestamp: 2026-10-09T07:04:29.083Z
Learning: In packages/provider-muse/src/server/sdk.ts, museLaunch passes whitespace-containing Windows .cmd/.bat paths to cmd.exe using a bare @ argument before the launcher path. The author tested this with a Muse-style launcher on Windows 11 using SDK-equivalent spawning. A literal %NAME% in the path expands when NAME is a defined environment variable; tested undefined names and lone percent signs remain intact. Caret escaping does not prevent expansion inside the quotes added by the SDK's non-verbatim spawning. Using /v:on with an environment-variable path avoids percent expansion but also enables delayed expansion inside muse.cmd, breaking its %~dp0 handling for paths containing !. The author deliberately accepts and documents the defined-variable path limitation rather than introducing that regression.
