fix(mobile): taps beside the composer's text no longer open the model picker - #24368
Tapping the blank space before the mobile composer's model icon opened the model picker instead of focusing the text field. The PR reduces the icon-only button's leading padding and makes the editor slot's surrounding space focus the editor. The native editor keeps a trailing gap before the icon.
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Taps in the compact composer's trailing gap now focus the editor rather than opening the model picker. The change is limited to UI spacing and focus behavior, with RTL-aware positioning preserved.

Walkthrough
The iOS composer changes inline control padding and compact editor spacing. A pressable area beside the compact editor focuses the editor. The inset calculation and compact-width threshold account for the trailing gap.

Summary
Compact editor spacing and focus apps/mobile/src/features/threads/ThreadComposer.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/compactEditorInsets.ts, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/compactEditorInsets.test.ts
The compact editor uses a 12-pixel trailing gap. Its inset calculation and compact-width threshold account for the gap. Pressing the added area focuses the editor. Tests update the expected right inset for left-to-right and right-to-left layouts.
Inline control padding apps/mobile/src/components/ComposerToolbar.tsx
Inline controls use right padding and conditional left padding. Icon-only controls use less left padding than other controls.
pingdotgg/t3code#27650: The issue concerns compact-width flipping in the Android composer. This PR changes the compact-width value but does not show that the reported boundary loop is resolved.
pingdotgg/t3code#24303: The issue reports composer taps opening the model selector instead of focusing text input. This PR adds a press target beside the compact editor that focuses it.
pingdotgg/t3code#27162: The issue concerns overlap between the Android model chip and composer placeholder. This PR changes spacing and inset handling at the editor-to-model-control boundary.

The description explains the problem, the implementation change, linked issue, platform evidence, observed behavior, and untested devices. It does not use the exact template headings or state explicit maintainer approval, but it is mostly complete for this focused bug fix.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #24303 requires composer text-area taps to focus the input and model-selector taps to remain on the selector. ThreadComposer.tsx assigns a 12px trailing gap to the compact editor slot and adds a non-accessible press target that focuses the editor. ComposerToolbar.tsx reduces leading padding for icon-only controls. The model control keeps its own press control. compactEditorInsets.test.ts covers the new gap in left-to-right and right-to-left layouts. No additional automated-test requirement exists in the issue.

Explanation
The changes stay within issue #24303. They adjust mobile composer touch geometry, editor focus behavior, and the related inset tests. The shared implementation also applies to Android, but it supports the same composer interaction and does not add unrelated behavior.

…d of opening the model picker
On phones the icon-only model button's leading padding started right where
the text field ended, so a tap in the blank gap before the provider icon
opened the model sheet. The text field's own slot also ignored taps on the
few points around the native editor.
The icon-only model button now starts just before its icon, the editor slot
takes that gap and focuses the editor when tapped, and the editor ends a bit
earlier so the text keeps the same visual gap to the icon.
