140-142: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAdd an HTTPS proxy test.
The current tests set only
HTTP_PROXYand fetch an HTTP target. Add a test that sets onlyHTTPS_PROXY, fetches the HTTPS target, and asserts that the local proxy receives and tunnels a CONNECT request. A direct HTTPS response alone cannot detect thatHTTPS_PROXYwas ignored.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

🟠 Major · Configure outbound fetch before ACP fast-path dispatch. · bin.ts:20-22
apps/server/src/bin.ts:20-22
🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick winConfigure outbound fetch before ACP fast-path dispatch.
The
acp-mcp-bridgeandacp-mcp-callbranches callrunAcpMcpCliFastPathwithout callingconfigureOutboundFetch. The ACP bridge then defaults to globalfetch, so requests bypass the configured proxy dispatcher. On proxied networks, these requests can skipHTTPS_PROXY/HTTP_PROXYandNO_PROXYhandling, and they do not receive the PR'sallowH2: falsepolicy. Configure outbound fetch before dispatching either fast path.Suggested fix

apps/server/src/outboundHttp.ts:17-25
🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick winAlign the server Node range with Undici 8.
When a proxy variable is set,
runCli()callsconfigureOutboundFetch()during startup. That path loadsundici@8.11.2. Undici 8 requires Node>=22.19.0, but the server declares support for Node^22.16. Node 22.16–22.18 therefore runs an unsupported dependency. Raise the server engine floor or pin this dependency to an Undici 7 release. The dependency predates this PR, but this startup path newly activates it for proxied runs.Suggested fix

Fixes #21922.
Problem
Node's built-in fetch ignores
HTTP_PROXY,HTTPS_PROXYandNO_PROXYunless Node is started withNODE_USE_ENV_PROXY=1or--use-env-proxy. On Node 26 the server replaces the fetch dispatcher at startup and kept proxy support only when Node had already opted in; on Node 22/24 it installed nothing. The release download int3 updateand the background service go through that fetch, so on a machine that reaches GitHub only through a proxy,t3 updateconnected directly and failed with an unexplainedECONNRESETwhilecurlwith the same environment worked.Change
apps/server/src/outboundHttp.ts: when any ofHTTPS_PROXY,https_proxy,HTTP_PROXYorhttp_proxyis set, or Node already installed its ownEnvHttpProxyAgent, the server installs undici'sEnvHttpProxyAgenton every Node version, keeping the existing HTTP/1-only options so the HTTP/2 idle-session crash fixed in #18378 stays fixed. ItsNO_PROXYis the user's value pluslocalhost,127.0.0.1and::1: the server talks to local providers and its own MCP endpoint over loopback, and undici would otherwise send those through the proxy wheneverNO_PROXYdoes not list them.keepOutboundFetchOnHttp1becameconfigureOutboundFetch, since it now decides both things;binCli.tscalls it at startup as before. Without proxy variables nothing changes: a plain HTTP/1 agent on Node 26, the default dispatcher otherwise. No settings or flags.Caveat: with a proxy variable set, Node 22/24 now loads npm undici 8 at startup, which declares
engines: node >=22.19.0while the server allows^22.16; proxy users on 22.16–22.18 are the one combination this does not cover.Verification
outboundHttp.test.ts,configureOutboundFetch: with onlyHTTPS_PROXYset (no Node opt-in), an HTTPS request to a non-loopback host reaches a local proxy as aCONNECTfor that authority; withHTTP_PROXYset and noNO_PROXY, a loopback request still goes direct. With main's dispatcher code the first fails (expected [] to deeply equal [ 't3-proxy-test.invalid:443' ]); without the loopback exemption the second fails (expected 'proxied' to be 'direct'). Proxy variables are cleared before every test in the file, so the suite also passes withHTTPS_PROXYset in the shell. 5 pass, 1 skipped (the Node 26-only HTTP/2 case; this machine runs Node 24, so CI covers it).Server-only; no UI change.
