Handoff: verifying the EAS Simulator stack on a MacThis comment covers the whole stack (#21835 → #21841 → #21842 → #21843 → #21844 → #21846). It was built and tested on Linux, where no iOS Simulator can run, so what needs a Mac and a real browser is listed here. Already verified (Linux)

The account must have EAS Simulator enabled; pingdotgg does. 1. Local simulators still work (#21835, #21841)
Expect no changes from 2. Add an EAS host (#21842, #21843, #21846)
3. Open an EAS device (#21844, with the WebRTC path from #21841)

ApprovabilityVerdict: Needs Human Approval Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This XL PR introduces EAS Simulator host configuration, Expo credential handling, a new authorized RPC, and billable cloud-session behavior across the web, server, and contracts layers. The new auth and sensitive-token paths, product defaults, and lifecycle side effects require human review. No code changes detected at You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

to map each failure to a bounded reason: use a fixed settings-read message for
ServerSettingsError, preserve fixed messages for ExpoNotSignedInError and
ExpoInvalidCredentialError, and select a fixed ExpoApiError message based on
rejected. Do not forward ExpoApiError.message; replace the current generic
Effect.mapError mapping with tag-specific handling.

retaining the existing saved and new-token behavior. In
DeviceService.easAccount, change the credential fallback from truthy fallback to
nullish fallback so an explicit empty token is not replaced by the saved host
token.

Settings → Integrations gets an EAS Simulator row next to SSH device hosts. An EAS host belongs to one environment, since that environment's server holds the Expo credential and starts the sessions. The editor sets the host's name, an optional Expo access token (a secret setting; without one the server uses EXPO_TOKEN, then its eas login), the EAS project sessions run under (or the thread's project), and the session bounds. "Check account" calls a new device.easAccount RPC (settings write scope) that reports who the credential signs in as and where it came from, and lists the projects it can use. Device setup names an EAS host instead of reporting Xcode when only the cloud can run iOS. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The token input sat beside a plain span, so screen readers announced it without a name. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The editor showed a saved project as its raw id, and a rejected token, only after Check account was pressed. It now checks on open. The check fails with its own `DeviceEasAccountError` instead of a host error with a made-up host id. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…host The check on open and a check after a token edit could answer out of order, leaving the dialog showing the account for a credential it no longer held. Only the latest check's answer is shown now. Editing a saved host also says that saving stops its running sessions. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
… an effect Setting state synchronously in the open effect made React render twice; the editor now starts in the checking state and the effect only sends the request. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A server from before EAS hosts ignores `easDeviceHosts`, so saving one there reported success and the host vanished. Device state now says `supportsEasHosts`, and Settings shows the EAS section only when it is set. `DeviceEasAccountError` drops its cause: it reaches the browser and its reason already says what Expo answered. …stops its sessions Save was off with no reason when the idle limit was not smaller than the session limit or a field was cleared, and Remove stopped a host's running sessions without saying so anywhere outside the editor. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

…eck tells the browser A cleared token was omitted from the account check, so the check fell back to the saved token that Save was about to drop and showed its account. It is sent as empty now, and the server no longer treats empty as absent. The check's failure reason is the credential errors' own guidance or a category for what Expo answered (a rejected credential by status, a refusal, or no answer), never Expo's text (review, CodeRabbit). Only the Clear button drops a saved token; typing and deleting again does not (review, CodeRabbit). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Settings → Integrations gets an EAS Simulator row next to SSH device hosts. An EAS host belongs to one environment, because that environment's server holds the Expo credential and starts the sessions.
The editor sets:
EXPO_TOKEN, then itseas login);Account check. The editor checks the Expo account as it opens and again on Check account, through a new
device.easAccountRPC (settings-write scope). It reports who the credential signs in as and where the credential came from, and lists the projects it can use for the picker, so a saved project shows by name and a rejected token shows before anything changes. Only the latest check's answer is shown; a cleared token is checked as empty, so the check does not fall back to the stored token Save is about to drop. A failed check is aDeviceEasAccountError(no cause, since it reaches the browser) whose reason is the credential errors' own guidance or a category for what Expo answered (a rejected credential by status, a refusal, no answer), never Expo's text; not a host error. Editing a saved host says that saving restarts it, which stops its running sessions, and the section says the same of removing one. When a draft cannot be saved (an idle limit not smaller than the session limit, a cleared field), the editor says why.Device state says
supportsEasHosts, and Settings shows the EAS section only for servers that set it: a server from before EAS hosts ignoreseasDeviceHosts, so a save there would vanish.Device setup names an EAS host instead of reporting Xcode when only the cloud can run iOS.
Part of built-in EAS Simulator support (stack #21847). Layer 6 of 6. The Mac handoff note for the whole stack is in the comments below.
Testing:
Done with Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code, running in T3 Code.
Screenshots
Dev build at the stack top, Settings → Integrations, 1280×800. Before this stack the Integrations page had no EAS section at all (the server did not know EAS hosts), so there is no "before" state to show beyond its absence.
EAS Simulator section with one host configured (limits in one line; the note that editing or removing stops running sessions):
Editor for a saved host: the account check ran on open (signed in through the server's
eas login), the saved project shows by name, limits, and the restart note:Invalid limits: idle minutes set equal to session minutes disables Save and says why:
