ApprovabilityVerdict: Approved at Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a contained iOS Live Activity bug fix that reuses existing native cleanup, preserves active cards, and adds regression coverage for foreground, sign-out, and older-binary behavior. The remaining lockfile and platform adapter changes are mechanical and do not introduce a new workflow or product default. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

505-520: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winTrigger the AppState listener in the idle-foreground test.
The test calls
refreshActiveLiveActivityRemoteRegistration()directly, so it does not exercise the app-foreground callback. The neighboring test covers that callback only with an active activity. A future idle-only guard could skip refresh while all current tests still pass. InvokeappStateMock.listenerswith"active"and assertdismissEndedbeforegetInstances.Suggested fix

Taking over this one for the mobile-02 maintainer batch. I’ll merge current main, keep the regression tests focused, rebuild the implementation to current conventions, and run independent reviews plus fresh iOS simulator verification. Credit to @only21mil for the original cleanup fix and reproduction. |

Ended iOS Live Activities could remain visible after opening the app or signing out because active-activity discovery excludes them. This adds a factory-scoped native cleanup during reconciliation and sign-out. Foreground reconciliation preserves active and stale activities; sign-out keeps the existing behavior of ending active activities too. Opening the app can also clear a recently completed card before its normal dismissal delay expires.
The Expo Widgets patch exposes the cleanup consistently through the native bridge, runtime JavaScript, public types, and non-iOS stubs. A missing native method is caught so older development clients still discover and register their active activities.
Built on @only21mil’s work in #21307; fixes #16241. The factory cleanup would be useful upstream in Expo Widgets.
Validation: the existing remote-registration suite remains 39 tests (37 on main); the rewritten foreground test drives the actual AppState listener. With main application sources restored, 36 pass and 3 fail; after restoring the candidate, all 39 pass. Mobile typecheck, scoped lint, formatting, and patch/hash consistency checks pass. Independent fresh Opus and Sol reviews found no confirmed code blockers.
After capture, merged main 54983e3 into the original branch as a26a2e0. All four feature source/test files, the complete widget patch, and the lockfile remain byte-identical to the verified candidate. The 39 focused tests, mobile typecheck, scoped lint, and all 11 installed patched-file checks pass after that integration. This also brings in the unrelated web-test fixture fix that blocked the earlier CI run.
Native verification used a fresh EAS iPhone simulator development client for each native graph, production JS, and the same isolated fixture. The fixture uses real ActivityKit objects, the production AppState listener, and
setAgentAwarenessRelayTokenProvider(null); it does not replace native callbacks. The baseline application sources and native dependency graph are from main 4ac8fa4; candidate sources are a530b2d. The baseline build metadata names the candidate checkout with the exact main patch/lock overlaid for upload, rather than a clean-main checkout. On the baseline main revision, an ended A remains frozen in Notification Center after reopening. On the candidate, reopening removes A without starting another activity. With ended A plus active B, B retains its exact ActivityKit ID and accepts an awaited native update to revision 1. The baseline stack is expanded; the candidate capture shows its collapsed card preview. The candidate preview alone does not enumerate every system card; the A-only and sign-out cases independently establish removal. A separate fresh-seed sign-out case calls the production export before any Home/reopen transition. Main ends active B but retains frozen A; the candidate has no active IDs and an empty Notification Center.
The fixture uses synthetic card data and a null-returning credential provider. This verifies native cleanup and the production lifecycle/export path, not real account UI, APNs/relay delivery, natural eight-hour expiry, a physical locked screen, or Release builds. A was manually ended with ActivityKit’s default policy. Android has no ActivityKit behavior to exercise; web and desktop are unaffected.
Before — baseline main after reopening, ended A remains:
After — candidate after reopening, no retained card:
Before — main retains frozen A alongside updated B after foreground:
After — B retains its native ID and shows revision 1 after foreground/update:

Before — main sign-out leaves ended A frozen:

Current-head CI is reported by the checks on this PR. Both simulator sessions were stopped after capture.
