ApprovabilityVerdict: Approved at Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a localized one-file fix that makes an already-supported selected diff file expand and scroll into view, including lazy-loaded turn diffs, while preserving existing expansion defaults and other file states. It introduces no schema, deployment, product-default, or static-analysis changes. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

Reveal and expand files selected from chat in turn diffs. Preserve other files and configured expansion defaults, and wait for patch availability before recording a reveal request. Models: Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6.1-Sol Harnesses: Claude Code and Codex
Exercise turn and lazy diffs with collapsed defaults, delayed patches, sibling expansion state, and scope changes using the existing jsdom and atom registry setup.

Taking over this one for batch worktree-git-13. I will rebuild the focused file-reveal fix on current main, reduce the tests to useful behavior coverage, and verify it before pushing to this branch. |

Co-authored-by: Julius Marminge <julius0216@outlook.com> (cherry picked from commit 0c9717b) Backport: drops the browser test; v0.1.0 has no browser test project.
Clicking a file in a completed turn opened the sidebar with the selected file still collapsed. Route turn selections through the same expand-and-reveal path as the file tree, and record a reveal only once the file exists. This preserves sibling expansion choices and waits for asynchronous patches. Patch refreshes and viewer remounts do not replay an earlier file selection; clicking that file again explicitly reveals it.
Fixes #20100. Related: #15401.
Rebuilt from @NickAwrist's #20101, preserving the contributor's commits and merging main. The original three substitute-viewer tests were replaced with two tests using the real viewer and file tree (299 → 226 test lines).
Verification:
Both captures use the same fixture, 1280×800 viewport, and collapsed default. This host's preview had missing font metrics; the same page-only Liberation Sans override was applied to both captures without changing application code.
Before: selected beta.ts stays collapsed.
After: selected beta.ts expands.
Recording: selecting files preserves the opened sibling
