4181-4189: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAssert the second pick’s generated annotation ID.
The test reproduces overlapping picks: the first pick is canceled, its capture times out while the second pick is active, and the second pick then returns. The test checks only the comment and submission. A stale-path regression that returns
annotation_1or the submittedannotation_2would pass.Suggested fix
const result = yield* Fiber.join(secondPick); expect(result?.annotation.comment).toBe("Second pick"); expect(result?.submission).toBe("attach"); + expect(result?.annotation.id).not.toBe(annotation.id); + expect(result?.annotation.id).not.toBe("annotation_2");🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

ApprovabilityVerdict: Approved at Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a narrowly scoped desktop bug fix that gives each preview annotation a unique UUID, preventing stale screenshot uploads from being reused across tabs and navigations. The production change is isolated and directly covered by regression tests, with no schema, default, deployment, or static-analysis changes. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Additional GPT-6 Astra code minimality review of The existing crypto service and common manager result boundary give each pick a unique ID across every capture outcome. The reviewer inspected source/tests and published records; no tests, builds or UI were run, and screenshots were not replayed. This was code review, not approval of the live PR prose. |

Note Written by Thanks for this. I'm closing it as part of PR triage. Another PR already covers the same fix. From the review: #14360 already addresses preview annotation ID collisions across tabs and reloads by giving each page load a random ID namespace. If you think this was a mistake, message me on Twitter at @maria_rcks and I'll take another look. |
Preview annotation IDs repeat across tabs and page loads. A new pick can replace an earlier draft annotation or reuse its screenshot upload, causing
stored size does not matchwhen sending.The desktop preview manager now gives each pick a UUID before returning it, including attach, direct-send, and failed or timed-out captures. Existing manager tests cover repeated guest IDs across tabs, replacement/reopened webviews, and the stale-capture timeout.
