Claude task_progress and task_notification frames carry the subagent's usage, but the V2 adapter dropped it. Record the latest snapshot on the subagent as context tokens and tool uses, and show it in the web lineage and timeline tooltips and the mobile subagent row. Fixes pingdotgg#15429

Thanks for this, the live One request: could the line include the window size, like If you'd rather keep this PR as is, I'm happy to send that as a follow-up once it lands. |

Heads up: main has moved and this now conflicts in one spot, the import block at the top of Happy to push the rebase to a branch you can pull from if that's easier. |

Merged main and resolved all nine conflicted files, including both Validation: Claude adapter 232 tests, contracts 38, client-runtime 24, and web lineage 18 passed. Typechecks passed for all five affected packages; targeted formatting and lint passed. @spiky02plateau: window sizing is a follow-up. Main now has instance-specific model selections and workflow usage; deriving the denominator correctly needs to account for those rather than treating all usage alike. The current context label stays unchanged. The existing screenshots predate main's provider-name and model-effort display changes and need updating. No browsers or dev servers were used in this sweep. GPT-6-Astra via T3 Code, on behalf of Guille |

Taking over this one as maintainer for batch claude-07. I will rebuild this as a small stack on current main: optional context-snapshot contract/client support, then Claude task-frame capture. The original branch will stay intact; I will link and credit the replacement layers before closing this PR. Context snapshots will stay separate from cumulative workflow totals, with no summed group usage or guessed context-window denominator. Headless web proof and explicit native/mobile verification limits will accompany the replacement. Nothing will be merged. |

Thanks @Gigioxx — the task-frame usage mapping and clearing stale values on both resume paths were the right pieces. I rebuilt this against current main as two independently reviewable layers:
I compared the original diff with the stack: progress/completion mapping, empty-description updates, both stale-usage resets, runtime projection, web lineage/timeline and both mobile consumers are covered. Mobile usage now has its own line, and settled snapshots hide during live child follow-ups. Tests were rebuilt around a minimal lifecycle case and extensions of existing cases. No cumulative cost or maximum-context display was added; #15429 remains open for that product discussion. The replacement PRs contain current proof, checks and platform limits. Closing this contribution in favor of those replacements; nothing was merged. |
Problem
On Orchestrator V2, a Claude subagent's token usage never reaches the client. Hovering a subagent in Lineage or the timeline shows model, status, and duration, but no tokens. The Claude adapter read only
descriptionfromtask_progressand onlysummaryfromtask_notification, and dropped theusageobject on both frames.Fixes #15429
Change
OrchestrationV2Subagentgets an optionalusage: { contextTokens, toolUses }. Per the triage note on [Bug]: Agents panel token counts for Claude subagents are context sizes, not totals: compaction erases earlier work, and Σ adds up context sizes #14003, Claude'stotal_tokensis the subagent's latest context size, not a lifetime total, so the field is named for what it is and never summed.ClaudeAdapterV2copiesusagefromtask_progressandtask_notificationonto the subagent. Screenshots below are from the current branch (after the main merge). One thread, two Claude subagent runs: the first ran before the fix, so no usage was recorded; the second ran with the fix. Context-window sizing is deferred to a follow-up.
