LGTM; holding this for the next minor release. If you can write a summary of the changes in the history file that would be awesome, otherwise I can always do that on landing the change to master :)

Thanks @bmeck ! You can always use unreleased like the other commits (d927057), but I can fix that of course :) I assume that is the summary of the changes between 1.3.4 and 1.4.0 (and not just 1.4.0)? I'm only asking because I remember looking into 1.3.5 and 1.3.6 but held those off for the next minor due to the js/json charset change in 1.3.5, among other changes.

I can make a more thorough list of changes if you give me a bit. This was mostly arbitrary from me reading commit messages.

Hi @bmeck you don't need to, of course :) I can always do that on landing, just wanted to clarify which versions I didn't need to get the list of changes for :)

@dougwilson with 8.5.0 being released with .mjs support, is there anything I can do to help get this out the door and onto npm?

The minors for these modules are synced with the minors of Express itself. Everything going well, Express 4.16 is due next week, so this should be closing out soon.
