Code Review
This pull request implements the ADR-0007 multi-role ingress convention, updating the interaction model documentation, the validation script, and adding corresponding test fixtures and BATS tests to support and verify the one-row-per-role-job classification. The code review feedback is highly constructive: it points out a critical pipeline failure risk in the validation script under set -euo pipefail when grep returns no matches, suggesting a safer awk alternative, and recommends asserting specific non-zero exit codes in the BATS tests to avoid false positives.

require exactly one row and ingress workflows require one row per role-job pair;
do not deduplicate with sort -u before validating row counts.
- Around line 202-203: Update the jobs-key extraction logic in the imv_wf_jobs

requiring exactly two spaces. Ensure nested mapping keys are not used to infer
indentation, while preserving the existing job-name extraction behavior.

Cascade: triage → deep (triage: haiku 4.5 [sonnet 5] → deep: opus 5.5 [opus 4.8, sonnet 5] + duck: o4-mini → audit: fable 5)
Summary
The PR extends validate-interaction-model.sh and the §4 table convention so a collapsed agent-ingress.yml gets one classification row per role-job. Each row is still class-checked against the shared on: block, and legacy single-role stubs keep exactly one row. This covers ACs 1–6 of #1728, including the QA fail-first cases. I reproduced it locally at 6e1fa26: shellcheck is clean; ingress-pass returns OK, ingress-underdoc gives FAIL[a], ingress-misclass gives FAIL[class], the live tree returns OK, and duplicate ingress rows give FAIL[a]; results are the same under gawk and mawk. CI is fully green and all 11 bot review threads are resolved. The only defects are minor and fail-open in narrow cases; the description is missing the risk, test-plan and rollback sections, but title, linked issue and change summary are clear, so gate 6 passes. No downstream consumers were flagged.
Findings
- minor: For a regular (non-ingress) workflow, imv_v_completeness counts only rows with an empty role qualifier. A stray role-qualified row such as
.github/workflows/legacy-stub.yml(bogus), added next to the valid unqualified row, is neither counted nor reported as stale, so the validator prints OK. This contradicts the new 'exactly one row per regular workflow' rule. The row is still class-checked, so the impact is limited to an accepted spurious row. Suggested fix: FAIL[table] any qualified row whose path is not agent-ingress.yml. - info: The duplicate-role loop counts matches with grep -c "^${role}$" (an unescaped regex), not a fixed-string match (grep -cxF). Well-formed roles are limited to [A-Za-z0-9_-], so this only affects the duplicate message for invalid roles containing regex metacharacters, which already FAIL[table] as stale. The loop also assigns
countwithout declaring it local; it relies on the caller's local via dynamic scoping. - info: The FAIL[class] line for a misclassified ingress row names only the path (agent-ingress.yml), not the role, so with N role rows the author has to work out which row is wrong. Consider passing the role through to imv_v_class's message.
- info: The issue's Dev Notes suggest mapping each ingress row to its job's trigger subset via the job-level
if:filter. The PR classifies every row against the full shared on: union instead. That meets AC2 as written, and the docs now state it, but a future Class-2/3 role collapsed into the ingress would not be distinguishable per job. - info: SAFETY_CHECKS reports DESCRIPTION_MISSING: 3: the risk, test-plan and rollback sections are absent. The title, closing issue and bot-generated change and test summaries are clear, and the change is a validator-only single-purpose PR with an obvious rollback (revert), so decision gate 6 is judged satisfied.

Summary
Extends the §4 table shape and validate-interaction-model.sh so a collapsed ADR-0007 agent-ingress.yml contributes one row per role-job. The ingress job set must match the row qualifiers exactly: missing, duplicate, stale, blank and malformed qualifiers all fail, and each row is still class-checked against the shared on: block. At head 6e1fa26 shellcheck is clean, the live-tree validator passes, all CI (including bats and validate-interaction-model) is green, there are no unresolved threads, and every AC in #1728 (including QA AC #6 negative cases) is covered. The remaining gaps are minor edge cases plus the missing risk/test-plan/rollback description sections; none blocks approval. Downstream impact: none.
Findings
- minor: For a non-ingress workflow, completeness only counts rows with an empty role field, so a role-qualified row on a regular workflow (e.g.
legacy-stub.yml(ghost)) is never flagged as stale or malformed. It passes silently next to the real unqualified row, and imv_v_class still class-checks it. Consider FAIL[table] for any qualified row whose path is not agent-ingress.yml. (scripts/validate-interaction-model.sh:430) - minor: imv_wf_jobs only recognises job keys written as
name:on a line by themselves. A job written as a flow mapping (b: {runs-on: y}) or with a value on the same line is skipped, so an ingress job in that form would escape the per-job completeness check. It is unlikely in real workflows but is a silent under-count. (scripts/validate-interaction-model.sh:217) - info: The duplicate-role check uses
grep -c "^${role}$", which treats the role as a regex. A malformed__invalid__qualifier containing regex metacharacters (e.g.[a.*b]) is therefore never reported as a duplicate. CI still fails because such a row also raises FAIL[table], so this only affects the diagnostic.grep -cxFwould be exact. (scripts/validate-interaction-model.sh:457) - info: Each ingress row is class-checked against the whole shared on: union, not the job's
if:-filtered subset that the #1728 dev notes mention. This satisfies AC2 as written and is sound while every collapsed role is Class 1 with no schedule, but it would need revisiting if a scheduled role were ever collapsed into the ingress. (scripts/validate-interaction-model.sh:498) - minor: The PR description is missing 3 of the 5 required sections (risk, test-plan, rollback), per the SAFETY_CHECKS description-quality finding. The auto-generated body does cover the changes, the tests and the linked issue, and a rollback is a plain revert of a validator plus docs. This is non-blocking for a MEDIUM, CI-green change, but the sections should be added.
- info: The CodeAnt nitpick that duplicate ingress rows pass is resolved at this head: duplicates now FAIL[a] (reproduced). The CodeAnt docstring-mismatch comment about 'planned' vs 'enforced' is also resolved, since docs/adding-an-agentic-role.md now says the check is enforced. (
