  • Vision group 10 min
    • What is a sub project vs a sub group
    • Sub Project would have its own structure to get work done under the same TSC and same
    • IPDK and OPI relationship
      • Agreed that calendar, youtube, slack, google groups should merge with OPI ones
      • We would want to have IPDK more visible within OPI
      • Discussion on whether of Githubs org should be merged
        • Boris Same work being done in both IPDK and OPI technical groups
        • Dan- Initially joined as a self contained thing
          • Doesn’t want to upset the release train of IPDK
          • All code is in Git and can it be used that way rather than in one
        • Joe- what does it mean for IPDK to be a sub-project e.g. parallel work being done.
          • Dan- IPDK would move governance into OPI, but the
          • Some pieces of IPDK are not fully in open source mode. That is still being worked on and would want to finish that before
        • boris – must be moving forward
        • Thomas Nadeau says we need to figure this out.
        • Anh thu– need the sides of the arguments written out so can become more informed
        • Paul– need TSC created, this should be first item of discussion.
        • Kris agrees that IPDK has a brand, we should be careful with language, fold in is different from Kill it.
        • Dan says before we make tactical decisions, What is the strategy,
          • Step1 get it written down
        • Joe– key problem
          • If subproject is part of the overall OPI
          • And we are defining the solution to the problem in two ways one in OPI and in subproject, we have a problem
      • Definition of a subproject
        • Needs to be established/clarified
        • Subprojects will be hosted under TSC and will not NOT have a guaranteed seat
          • We don't want to create sub-projects for vendor specific libraries at this time
        • However keeping these separate is very confusing and prevents us from converging as a community
        • This is a big topic that we need some clarity on ASAP
  • Developer platform 5 min
