OPM Basemaps

Several raster-based Mars basemaps had been created for the "Where On Mars?" project. In addition to those, we're developing new vector-based basemaps using geospatial datasets stored and managed within OPM CARTO Builder (e.g: topography, nomenclature, etc...).

All our global basemaps are available for use in CartoDB Builder, or your mapping applications using Leaflet or OpenLayers. See How to Create Your Own Map using CARTO.

You can also explore our basemaps with this Leaflet example (use the layer selector top right).

Global Moon Basemaps

Lunar Hillshaded Albedo Basemap (NEW!)

This basemap is a blend between Lunar LOLA Hillshade and Albedo DAM map products.

Global Mars Basemaps

These basemaps are suited for use in CartoDB Builder.
They are all in Web Mercator projection and covering the entire surface of Mars.
