Here is a list of country names in CDIAC but not found in gapminder's geo domain. We need to find out the geo id for these countries. They are also mentioned in semio/ddf--gapminder--geo_entity_domain#1 (comment)

Okay! And conversely, and maybe more importantly, are all geo's in gapminder entity domain covered? That's what we need to construct this dataset (though the above list is also good to see if we're missing some or need to do aggregrations etc).

Let's first of all make this list (or did you do it in a different/better way before?)
I made the following overview of all unmapped geo's

Three things needed:

  • easy mapping: add synonyms to gapminder geo country set and run again
  • split, see merge
  • merge, probably harder operations in chef. right now deep merge with GW data will take care of these, so let's leave for later (unless you already have a good way to do it of course)
