This is actually version 1.0 if you consider the Github history: previous releases were made a long time ago (in 2005 and 2009), and were not put under a git repo.
For the sake of simplicity, let's start here with the old naming convention.
This release incorporates some Javadoc fixes + updated pom.xml file for pushing to Maven central.
