Third of the fixes from the Phase B-4 review record (#511): its Priority 1 rows 11, 12 and 13. Three rules, one shape — a table that was smaller or wider than the spec it claims to implement.

interactive-nesting — the container set was the interactive set

isInteractiveContainer reused the whole INTERACTIVE_ROLES, so any role that is interactive opened a nesting container. Two of them legitimately contain their own controls:

<div role="gridcell"><button>Edit</button></div>   <!-- the documented grid pattern -->
<div role="combobox"><input /></div>               <!-- the ARIA 1.1 wrapping combobox -->

Containers are now a separate CONTAINER_ROLES: the roles whose descendants a user agent does not expose at all, plus link, which carries the same content-model restriction as <a href>. isInteractiveElement — what counts as a nested control — is unchanged.

require-datetime — five of the spec's ten <time> syntaxes

Missing, and therefore reported as "not machine-readable": a week (2026-W33), a time-zone offset (+09:00, Z), the alternative duration form (4h 18m 3s, 2w), and years of four or more digits (12026). The alternative duration form is the realistic one — recipes and media lengths are written that way, not as PT4H18M3S.

use-list — a sentence tail read as a bullet

<p>{count} - results found</p> trims to - results found, so the rule saw a bullet. It also fired on a leading dash inside <pre>, <code>, <kbd>, <samp> and <textarea>, where the dash is content.

Deliberately not changed: the rule still fires on <p>Intro:<br />- one<br />- two</p>. WCAG H48 names exactly that shape ("asterisks and br elements"), so requiring a bullet to be the first significant child would have removed the case the technique exists for. There is a regression test pinning it.

Verified

Every case above checked against the built dist, both directions:

clean gridcell > button FLAGS button > button
clean combobox > input FLAGS a href > button
clean time 4h 18m 3s / 2w FLAGS role=checkbox > button
clean time 2026-W33 FLAGS time last Tuesday
clean time +09:00 / Z FLAGS time 2026-W3 (malformed week)
clean time 12026 FLAGS p - one (real bullet)
clean p {count} - results FLAGS p Intro:<br>- one
clean pre/code/kbd/samp/textarea

All three narrow detection, so recorded suppressions keep matching and no project's CI can newly fail.

Four regression tests. Docs updated in both languages — interactive-nesting's container list is now enumerated rather than described as "an interactive role", and each page's "Not flagged" list gained the cases above.

pnpm build, pnpm typecheck, pnpm test (core 1535 / cli / vite / kitchen-sink all green), pnpm lint, translate:check clean.

How can I continue?

After more reviews become available, a review can be triggered using the @coderabbitai review command as a PR comment. Alternatively, push new commits to this PR.

To avoid repeated limits, reduce automatic review volume by pausing incremental auto-reviews earlier, using label-based review opt-in, excluding WIP or generated PR titles, or requesting reviews manually when the PR is ready. If your team needs uninterrupted high-volume reviews, an organization admin can enable usage-based reviews.

How do review limits work?

CodeRabbit enforces per-developer PR review limits for each organization. Most developers receive the normal plan review availability.

For paid Pro and Pro+ PR reviews, CodeRabbit uses adaptive limits for sustained high-volume activity. When a developer's recent PR review activity reaches the 95th percentile or higher among CodeRabbit users, additional reviews become available more gradually as earlier reviews age out of the rolling window.

Please refer docs for additional details.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The PR narrows interactive container roles, improves list bullet detection around interpolations and verbatim content, and expands accepted machine-readable <time> formats. It adds parser tests, updates English and Japanese documentation, refreshes translation hashes, and adds a patch changeset.

Interactive container detection now uses a dedicated role set. gridcell and ARIA 1.1 combobox containers do not create nesting violations.
List bullet detection

Bullet detection ignores text after sibling expressions and content inside pre, code, kbd, samp, and textarea. Tests preserve <br>-separated bullet detection.

Machine-readable <time> validation accepts additional year, week, timezone, and duration formats. Documentation hashes and the patch changeset record the updates.

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 75702

The PR improves accessibility and datetime detection, but the current implementation can still misclassify some ARIA roles and accept invalid <time> values, producing incorrect lint results. Merge should wait for these bounded correctness issues to be fixed.

preserve the supported formats while rejecting trailing text such as
