CORS issue trying to import

I get error as below when trying to import existing Notebook modules

what is the workaround, if any?

You need to use observable: to import a Observable notebook.

import {rangeSlider} from "observable:@mootari/range-slider";

Alternatively:

import {rangeSlider} from "https://api.observablehq.com/@mootari/range-slider.js?v=4" with {type: "observable"};

We don’t currently support importing from notebook URLs as those are webpages rather than JavaScript modules; the observable: protocol import is syntactic sugar for the import attribute shown above.
