  • Nothing new this week

• Changes to WASI spec in snapshot_preview2 #59

  • About this time last month preview 2 was formalized, now called wasi 020, major update to the APIs that add supports for component model based bindings. Also includes new subsystem wasi http (has fetch like semantics), wasi sockets is also much more complete.
  • Means we could ship preview 2 if we had the cycles to do it.
  • https://github.com/bytecodealliance/jco has implemented preview 2 on top of Node.js
    • running posix on posix in multiple layers
    • passes all of the preview 2 testsuite
    • means where you have Node.js you can get WASM. It will be correct, but not necessarily fast
  • Guy to put together a summary of what the high level integration would look like
