Starting an agent from a ticket used to mean a composer draft or chevron → menu → dialog → Launch. Now it's one click.

T3 ticket 01M4QXXDAHVX6ESRHHZ55WESR7: One-click Launch from tickets (plan-first, MCP, capture, other Mac)

What changes

  • Launch is the main button on ticket cards and detail. One click starts an agent in plan mode with the project's defaults (model → settings default → first available; runtime mode clamped to the provider; workspace from the project, worktree when unset). Resume stays primary when a linked thread is open.
  • Chevron: Resume entries, Launch without planning, Launch as goal, Launch on (syncs that machine once if the ticket hasn't arrived; picker for an unmapped project there).
  • No project on the machine → a small project picker, then launch. Launch stays on the page with an Open toast.
  • Quick capture: Create & launch (⌘⇧↩). The ticket survives a failed launch, with Retry.
  • Agents: new MCP tool t3_ticket_start, capped to the caller's modes, deduped by clientRequestId.
  • Server: TicketLaunchService + RPC tickets.start own project mapping, defaults, prompt, link → launch → rollback, the already-active guard, and idempotent retry by caller-generated ids. ProjectLaunchDefaults is shared with t3_thread_launch.
  • Plan-first threads link as role work, so card activity shows them.
  • Non-git projects launch at the project root instead of a worktree that would fail.
  • Removed: the start dialog, Draft, and the client-side link/launch helper.

Checks

  • 23,276 tests passed across all packages, plus typecheck, lint and knip; git tests run hermetically.
  • Browser run with a fake provider on two isolated servers standing in for two Macs, including desktop and phone width.
  • Two native mobile tests (notification-center-manager, permissions-service) fail identically on unchanged nick/v2. CI runs on Ubuntu, where they skip.
  • Reports: ~/.t3/plans/idea-board-2026-10-11/LAUNCH_SLICE{1,2}_REPORT.md.

After install

Both Macs need this build for cross-machine launch: an older build has no tickets.start and shows "Launch was not confirmed".

Use the existing Git workflow service to select a root workspace when HEAD cannot back a worktree. Signal missing tickets structurally and cover non-repository and empty-repository launches.

Share launch retries and toasts between ticket controls and capture. Resolve projects and sync on the destination machine, isolate retries by mode and environment, and document the one-click workflow.
