Installed Notes v4.12.0 and Log filling with the following error: Failed to get notes folder for user admin: Notes is not a folder

Installed Notes 4.12.0, and log filling with “ Failed to get notes folder for user admin: Notes is not a folder”. Attempted to access my Notes via iOS, and it zeroed-out the Notes I attempted to access with an account other than the admin user. The admin user account has never leveraged iOS or Android.

Disabled the Notes app to prevent the log from filling with the warning messages.

Steps to reproduce

1. Installed Notes v4.12.0

Expected behaviour

Notes should not fill the log with warnings.

Actual behaviour

Notes is filling the log with warnings.

After more investigation, the Notes folder does not exist for the admin account. It does exist for my other user accounts. The warning is legitimate, but I do not use Notes for the admin account, and it continues spamming the log file with the warnings.

Reproduced for Nextcloud 30.0.9

I can confirm this unwanted behaviour for several well established user accounts on Nextcloud 30.0.9 instance after updating to Notes 4.12.0 just today.

What happens when you generate another user account later, and the user never launches the Notes application? Your log file will probably begin filling again with the entries. Did you create a cron job to periodically check for Notes folders for all accounts, and create the folder if it does not exist?

Then it will break again. I just hope that until then it will be fixed. But to be fair, I only have 6 Users so it isnt a big problem for me. Just wanted to share my quick fix :)

Seems that all the users referenced in the log error warnings are ones that have never used the Notes app and therefore never created a Notes folder. So something in the latest version is now looking/polling for a Notes folder in every user's data/files tree and creating an error log when it doesn't find one. Hopefully not too tricky to modify code to allow for this with an if-then statement of some sort?

I presume the schema will need to include a has_launched flag of some sort; however, the other issue is that it kept generating logs several times a minute — for the same user.

Looks like a side effect of #1468 + #1486

Probably should either be logged at info or debug level (or) true passed to getOrCreateNotesFolder().
