Notable changes

  • ⭐ New banners encouraging you to add Specta Player to homescreen

Description

Since Chrome 68, add to homescreen dialog behaves differently. To make use of those changes, new banners and buttons were added to better promote the add to homescreen feature. It also enables desktop users on supported browsers to install Specta Player like a native app πŸ˜„

I tried my best to make sure those new additions aren't too intrusive. I'd love to hear your feedback on this one! πŸ’¬

Notable changes

  • πŸ› Fixed Travis build and possible dependency mismatches
  • βš™ Tweaked button layout on phones, now it's clear they're buttons

Description

Our previous construction has left the build system reliant on the promise of backwards-compatibility but it seems like the new Node version messed up our deployment system πŸ€” Now, we have Travis set to a checked locally version of Node so no more version-mismatch errors can shake our ground πŸ’ͺ

Also we're making a change to the button design on mobile. The bottom-bar styled controls no longer can be confused for navigation as they received a true button worthy styling πŸ”˜βœ¨

As always, waiting for your feedback πŸ’¬

Updated a few things under the hood to make sure everything works smoothly.

πŸ› Most notable bugs squashed:

  • Seconds now display correctly
  • Drag to change current time feature in playing (console) screen now correctly handles cases where you drag the song down to 0:00
  • Song titles should no longer display over you custom titles

Enjoy 😁 and as always - if you find any bugs, be sure to submit them in the issues πŸ’¬

It comes out that a recent update to a framework we're using was preventing users from uploading files on mobile browsers πŸ˜• yikes! But that's fixed now! This release also brings up a few other minor bug fixes that were live already but weren't added to the last release.

Patches, patches and some bugs

As I have done most of work on Specta Player on my Chromebook I wasn't aware of a few issues appearing in Firefox and Edge. I strongly apologise for that and I'm happy to tell you that Firefox is back on the track with the last known bug being investigated on other repositories (updates in #2). Edge sadly stays visually broken but it is usable if it needs to (updates in #3). I'm working on those issues very hard to make sure they are resolved as fast as possible.
