Description
Your idea
In addition to the existing options, MuseScore Studio should allow users to specify whether naturals should be displayed when switching between ♭ and ♯ key signatures.
Current behaviour (using the style option at the bottom of the menu):
Naturals are displayed when switching from 4 flats to 7 sharps, taking up lots of space (unwanted).
Naturals are displayed when switching from 7 sharps to 4 sharps (wanted).
Proposed option:
Of course, if the style option is selected where the above naturals are to be displayed in front of the sharps, that is still to be respected.
Problem to be solved
MuseScore Studio currently provides 3 style options for displaying naturals in key signatures: Only when changing to a key signature with no accidentals, in front of the key signature, or a mix of in front of and behind the key signature (depending on ♯ and ♭). The latter two options, in particular the last one, take up a lot of horizontal space.
Often, adding naturals when changing to a key signature with fewer accidentals is helpful as the difference could easily be overlooked. When changing between ♭ and ♯ this is less so.
