Conclusion

1. If I understand correctly, the Windows verions of python 3.13 venv adds '.gitignore' to the root of the venv it creates.
2. I have almost no experience with Linux, and I don't know what should happen.
3. From my not-informed perspective, it seems the Python Environment extension is trying to greate '.gitignore' in the target path.
4. I have not compared this with any other OS or any other Python version.
5. While I am having trouble getting Python to do what I want it to do on WSL, this error message cannot possibly be related; I have not observed any problems that might be related to this error message.

Thank you for your hard work and for the follow-up. I tested it, and the problem I encountered was that it finished so quickly that I didn't believe that it did anything. I'm happy I was wrong. The venv was created and there were no errors.
