Raise error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'executable')

As the title says, when selecting the Python interpreter, it raises an error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'executable'). Python cannot be used. The reason is unknown.

Once I disabled the Python Environments extension, Python was resurrected.

@SkrHo please share the logs from Output > Python Environments. Also what type of Python were you using, like venv or pyenv .

Sorry, I should describe it in detail. I am using Conda. Not python cannot be used. I can use it by typing "python file.py" in terminal. It should be env cannot be switched. There is no responding when I clicked the Select Python Interpreter button. There is also no responding even I select interpreter via Command Palette. And Jupyter cannot be used.

Can you share the callstack from where the error occurs? What do you have for Python-envs.autoActivationType. Also, what do you see in the Python project view.

The selected environment is not pyprac. It is Python 3.12.3 (Global). Pyprac is the one I want to switch to, and I tried it by the command palette, but failed.

I uploaded the new log, only containing the output for clicking the button, and the screenshot of the error. The error only informs once. After that, no matter how many times I click that button, there is no response.

For Python-envs.autoActivationType, I tried command and shellStartup. Looks similar, same error comes up. This time I changed to the default command.

And, here is an example:

The Python file looks good, and Pylance works, except the workspace environment is wrong. Jupyter does not work. Even I click the run cell button, no response.
