What is the expected behavior of the proposed feature? What is the scenario this would be used?

When opening an app (via the start menu or some other method) that is already open on another virtual desktop, open a new instance or move the open instance of the current virtual desktop instead of switching to the other virtual desktop where it is open.

For example, if I have MS teams open in virtual desktop 2 and I am in virtual desktop 1 and I go to Start and select MS teams, Windows will switch to the other virtual desktop. Preventing this behavior and instead just opening another instance of the app or at least moving the app to the current virtual desktop would be very useful.

Hi crutkas,

#6797 is similar however it uses a keyboard shortcut to move the open app instance to the current VD or switches to the VD with the app open. This issue (#8357) is dealing with moving the app to the current VD or opening a new instance of it. So there is a difference in the behaviour although they both refer to VDs and app instances.

Could this issue's desired functionality be included as a setting in the #6797 feature? For example as a switch or checkbox that defines where apps open?
