Hi,

I really enjoy your installer. Thank you very much!

I think that NewPipe should not be part of this package, because it is not MicroG related and I prefer to install it manually (if I want to use it).

Thanks,
Dominik

@ale5000-git honestly, I think @dschrempf is right. I mean its cool advertisement for us, but some may see it as bloatware, and they would not be pleased by it.

@dschrempf you may want to use NewPipe tho ;P

How I have already said many times there will be an option in the future to exclude any single component so everyone will be happy.
But it may take a while to do it since I'm a bit busy.

Please remove NewPipe. There are several reasons not to put NewPipe in here:

  • There are tow versions of NewPipe signed with a different key. If one wants to install the version signed with the other key he can't or will loos all the data.
  • version v0.11.6 is horribly outdated
  • as @dschrempf mentioned its not a good service, the user should decide himself weather he wantes NewPipe or not.

My installer remove YouTube that is pretty heavy especially on old phones, so I consider NewPipe really important as replacement.
NewPipe is installed as UNprivileged system app so it is almost the same of a normal install and it can be updated with F-Droid.

PS: Now I have updated NewPipe and I have also added an option to avoid installing it (inside settings.conf) so anyone can choose.
PS2: Now there is also a live option to avoid installing it.

For those interested now it include the version of NewPipe signed by NewPipe developers and also include the NewPipe F-Droid repo for faster updates.
The option to install NewPipe or not is still here as always.
