This PR fixes #769.

This change replaces hardcoded integer values for log levels in the broker/nats and broker/channel packages with the appropriate logrus.InfoLevel constant. This improves code readability and maintainability.

Notes for Reviewers:

This is a straightforward refactoring to remove magic numbers and align with the logger's intended usage. No functional changes are introduced.

Summary of Changes

Hello @ChrissHenilston777, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request focuses on a targeted refactoring effort to enhance the clarity and robustness of the logging configuration within the broker components. By replacing arbitrary integer values with a well-defined constant for the 'Info' log level, the change ensures that the logging setup is more explicit and less prone to errors, ultimately improving the overall code quality without altering any functional behavior.

Highlights

  • Refactoring Log Levels: Replaced hardcoded integer values for log levels with the logrus.InfoLevel constant in the broker/nats and broker/channel packages.
  • Improved Readability and Maintainability: This change eliminates 'magic numbers', making the code easier to understand and maintain by explicitly using named constants for log levels.

Code Review

This pull request correctly replaces hardcoded integer values for log levels with the logrus.InfoLevel constant, which is a good improvement for code readability and maintainability. The changes are straightforward and align with the goal of removing magic numbers. I have one minor suggestion to further improve code clarity and consistency.

log, err = logger.New("channel-broker", logger.Options{
Format: logger.TerminalLogFormat,
LogLevel: 4, // Info level
LogLevel: int(logrus.InfoLevel), // Info level

The comment // Info level is now redundant because the constant logrus.InfoLevel is self-descriptive. For consistency with the changes in broker/nats/nats.go (where a similar comment was removed), it would be best to remove this comment to improve code clarity.

Suggested change
LogLevel: int(logrus.InfoLevel), // Info level
LogLevel: int(logrus.InfoLevel),
