With a Spice port chardev, it is possible to reenter
monitor_qapi_event_queue() (when the client disconnects for
example). This will dead-lock on monitor_lock.

Instead, use some TLS variables to check for recursion and queue the
events.

We need to set cs->halted to 1 before calling ppc_set_compat. The reason
is that ppc_set_compat kicks up the new thread created to manage the
hotplugged KVM virtual CPU and the code drives directly to KVM_RUN
ioctl. When cs->halted is 1, the code:

     }

returns before it reaches KVM_RUN, giving time to the main thread to
finish its job. Otherwise we can fall in a deadlock because the KVM
thread will issue the KVM_RUN ioctl while the main thread is setting up
KVM registers. Depending on how these jobs are scheduled we'll end up
freezing QEMU.

The following output shows kvm_vcpu_ioctl sleeping because it cannot get
the mutex and never will.
PS: kvm_vcpu_ioctl was triggered kvm_set_one_reg - compat_pvr.

In qemu_laio_process_completions_and_submit, the AioContext is acquired
before the ioq_submit iteration and after qemu_laio_process_completions,
but the latter is not thread safe either.

This change avoids a number of random crashes when the Main Thread and
an IO Thread collide processing completions for the same AioContext.
This is an example of such crash:

It is yet unclear whether this should really be considered a bug in the
test case or whether blk_unref() should work for callers that haven't
taken the AioContext lock, but in order to fix the build tests quickly,
just take the AioContext lock around blk_unref().

When using the 9P2000.u version of the protocol, the following shell
command line in the guest can cause QEMU to crash:

    while true; do rm -rf aa; mkdir -p a/b & touch a/b/c & mv a aa; done

With 9P2000.u, file renaming is handled by the WSTAT command. The
v9fs_wstat() function calls v9fs_complete_rename(), which calls
v9fs_fix_path() for every fid whose path is affected by the change.
The involved calls to v9fs_path_copy() may race with any other access
to the fid path performed by some worker thread, causing a crash like
shown below:

While servicing the OHCI transfer descriptors(TD), OHCI host
controller derives variables 'start_addr', 'end_addr', 'len'
etc. from values supplied by the host controller driver.
Host controller driver may supply values such that using
above variables leads to out-of-bounds access issues.
Add checks to avoid them.

We can only destroy Monitor objects after we're sure that they are not
in use by the dispatcher coroutine any more. This fixes crashes like the

mon_get_cpu_env() is indirectly called monitor_parse_arguments() where
the current monitor isn't set yet. Instead of using monitor_cur_env(),
explicitly pass the Monitor pointer to the function.

Commit v5.2.0-190-g0546c0609c ("vl: split various early command line
options to a separate function") moved the trace backend init code to
the qemu_process_early_options(). Which is now being called before
os_daemonize() via qemu_maybe_daemonize().

Turns out that this change of order causes a problem when executing
QEMU in daemon mode and with CONFIG_TRACE_SIMPLE. The trace thread
is now being created by the parent, and the parent is left waiting for
a trace file flush that was registered via st_init(). The result is
that the parent process never exits.

To reproduce, fire up a QEMU process with -daemonize and with
CONFIG_TRACE_SIMPLE enabled. Two QEMU process will be left in the
host:

Aside from the 'zombie' process in the host, this is directly impacting
Libvirt. Libvirt waits for the parent process to exit to be sure that the
QMP monitor is available in the daemonized process to fetch QEMU
capabilities, and as is now Libvirt hangs at daemon start waiting
for the parent thread to exit.

The fix is simple: just move the trace backend related code back to
be executed after daemonizing.

While the SB16 seems to work up to 48000 Hz, the "Sound Blaster Series
Hardware Programming Guide" limit the sampling range from 4000 Hz to
44100 Hz (Section 3-9, 3-10: Digitized Sound I/O Programming, tables
3-2 and 3-3).

Later, section 6-15 (DSP Commands) is more specific regarding the 41h /
42h registers (Set digitized sound output sampling rate):

  Valid sampling rates range from 5000 to 45000 Hz inclusive.

There is no comment regarding error handling if the register is filled
with an out-of-range value.  (See also section 3-28 "8-bit or 16-bit
Auto-initialize Transfer"). Assume limits are enforced in hardware.

It is legal for the CMD30 to query for out-of-range addresses.
Such invalid addresses are simply ignored in the response (write
protection bits set to 0).

In commit 84816fb ("hw/sd/sdcard: Assert if accessing an illegal
group") we misplaced the assertion *before* we test the address is
in range. Move it *after*.

Include the qtest reproducer provided by Alexander Bulekov:

The old_bs variable in bdrv_next() is currently determined by looking
at the old block backend. However, if the block graph changes before
the next bdrv_next() call, it might be that the associated BDS is not
the same that was referenced previously. In that case, the wrong BDS
is unreferenced, leading to an assertion failure later:

> bdrv_unref: Assertion `bs->refcnt > 0' failed.

In particular, this can happen in the context of bdrv_flush_all(),
when polling for bdrv_co_flush() in the generated co-wrapper leads to
a graph change (for example with a stream block job [0]).

When vhost-user or vhost-kernel is handling virtio net datapath,
QEMU should not touch used ring.

But with vhost-user socket reconnect scenario, in a very rare case

This patch improves error handling in virtio_snd_handle_tx_xfer()
and virtio_snd_handle_rx_xfer() in the VirtIO sound driver. Previously,
'goto' statements were used for error paths, leading to unnecessary
processing and potential null pointer dereferences. Now, 'continue' is
used to skip the rest of the current loop iteration for errors such as
message size discrepancies or null streams, reducing crash risks.

nand_command() and nand_getio() don't check @offset points
into the block, nor the available data length (s->iolen) is
not negative.

In order to fix:

- check the offset is in range in nand_blk_load_NAND_PAGE_SIZE(),
- do not set @iolen if blk_load() failed.

When the MAC Interface Layer (MIL) transmit FIFO is full,
truncate the packet, and raise the Transmitter Error (TXE)
flag.

Broken since model introduction in commit 2a42499
("LAN9118 emulation").

  * 2.2.5 Transfer Mode Register (Offset 00Ch)

    Writes to this register shall be ignored when the Command
    Inhibit (DAT) in the Present State register is 1.

Do not update the TRNMOD register when Command Inhibit (DAT)
bit is set to avoid the present-status register going out of
sync, leading to malicious guest using DMA mode and overflowing

For multi-bytes commands, our implementation uses the @data_start
and @data_offset fields to track byte access. We initialize the
command start/offset in buffer once. Malicious guest might abuse
by switching command while staying in the 'transfer' state, switching
command buffer size, and our implementation can access out of buffer
boundary. For example, CMD17 (READ_SINGLE_BLOCK) allows to read up to
512 bytes, and CMD13 (SEND_STATUS) up to 64 bytes. By switching from
CMD17 to CMD13 (see reproducer below), bytes [64-511] are out of the
'status' buffer.

Our implementation return R0 status code for unexpected commands.
Such in-transaction command switch is unexpected and returns R0.
This is a good place to reset the start/offset fields to avoid
malicious accesses.
