Possible to create users with duplicate email #3

To reproduce

register a user using email address A
register a different user through facebook that also uses email address A

Expected:

the user should not be able to register again using A

Actual:

two separate user entries appear in the database

          quick fix for issue #3, but complete fix depends on issue #5 and #6
