Here is a picture showing how some system colors are typically used in a user interface. In parentheses are the actual names of these colors as per the Microsoft documentation (indeed, Accent CS shows a simplified name.) Keep in mind that the way an application uses these colors varies and some applications even completely ignore them.
Internally, Windows 10 uses several variants of the accent color. Therefore, Accent CS has a setting that let you chose which one it should use as the base accent color (i.e. the one shown in the Accent preview rectangle.)
- ** AccentPalette: ** This is the color that you chose in the Settings app. It is the base accent color of Universal apps.
- ** DWMAccent: ** This is the color used on title bar when colored title bars are enabled.
- ** DWMColorization: ** This is the glass color that was used from Windows Vista until 8.1. It is probably used in a handful of classic desktop apps.
