ci(base-red): read Swift Testing display-named reds as test names - #35723
Those tests are declared @Test("A capped plan …"), so Swift Testing prints ✘ Test "A capped plan …" recorded an issue, with no (). The Swift Testing pattern in both test_reds.FAILED and base_red_excuse.TESTS required …\), so the job had no failing tests. Head.mismatch then fell back to comparing error: lines, which here are WebKit ProcessAssertion … error: app logs whose hex pointers change on every run.
Both patterns now also accept a quoted display name. The quoted alternative is tried first, so a display name's recorded an issue at …: (x) failed can't stretch into the .+?\) match.
Testing
python3 -m unittest tests.test_test_reds tests.test_base_red_excuse: 152 OK. New tests cover display-named reds, including a parameterized one, in both modules, plus a shared-vs-new comparison.
Replay of the two real shard-2 logs: signature() now returns the same three test names for head and main, and test_reds.classify(head, main) is not own.

Summary by cubic
Fixes Swift Testing display-name red detection so gh-merge-green no longer refuses jobs whose only reds match the base run.
@Test("A capped plan …") prints ✘ Test "A capped plan …" recorded an issue with no (), so the existing Swift Testing patterns in test_reds.FAILED and base_red_excuse.TESTS didn't match fails from those tests. base_red_excuse then fell back to comparing app-log error: lines, whose hex pointers differ between runs, and refused to excuse a red that main has too. Both patterns now also accept quoted display names, and try the quoted alternative first so display-name issue details can't stretch into the old .+?\) match.
Written for commit 69452f5. Summary will update on new commits.

Bug Fixes
Swift Testing failures with quoted display names are now recognized alongside conventional Test …() names, including names with punctuation or an ellipsis.
Comparisons of test failures now account for quoted display names, helping identify when a failure is shared or newly introduced.
Existing failure-result phrases remain required when identifying these failures.
`@Test("A capped plan …")` prints `✘ Test "A capped plan …" recorded an
issue`, with no `()`. The Swift Testing pattern in test_reds and
base_red_excuse needed the parentheses, so a job whose only reds were
display-named tests had no failing tests. base_red_excuse then compared it
by its app log's `error:` lines, whose pointers differ on every run. That
refused to excuse a red that main has too (shard 2 of
#35296, CloudMachinesHeaderCountTests).

The Swift Testing failure-name matchers now recognize quoted display names as well as parenthesized test names. Regression tests cover name extraction and per-test comparison.

Summary
Match and compare Swift Testing failure names scripts/ci/base_red_excuse.py, scripts/ci/test_reds.py, tests/test_base_red_excuse.py, tests/test_test_reds.py
Both matchers accept quoted display names or the existing parenthesized form. Tests check extracted names and whether matching and newly failing names appear in per-test results.
manaflow-ai/cmux#35609: Normalizes Swift Testing lines before classification; this PR also updates Swift Testing failure parsing.
manaflow-ai/cmux#26783: Adds per-test results and their integration with base-red classification, which this PR extends to quoted display names.

Distinct tests sharing a display name can cause a new failure to be excused as an existing base failure. Preserve distinguishing test identity in both comparison paths before merging, unless this limitation is explicitly accepted.

Full details: Cmux Algorithmic Complexity
Explanation
PASS. The pull request changes two Python CI regular expressions and adds Python tests. It does not add production Swift, TypeScript, JavaScript, shell, or runtime collection algorithms. The new quoted-name alternative performs a bounded per-line regex scan and introduces no nested collection scan, batch rescan, repeated sort/filter, or in-memory join.
Full details: Cmux Swift Concurrency
Explanation
The pull request changes only four Python files: two CI parsers and their tests. The authoritative diff contains no Swift files and introduces no Dispatch, Combine, completion-handler, or fire-and-forget Task patterns in cmux-owned Swift code. The Swift concurrency check is therefore not applicable.
Full details: Cmux Swift `@Concurrent`

Explanation
PASS. The pull request changes only Python CI scripts and Python tests. The reviewed diff contains no production Swift files, SwiftPM manifests, or app-target code, so the Swift package boundary rule does not apply.
Full details: Cmux Swiftpm Lockfiles
Explanation
The pull request changes only Python CI parsing code and Python tests. It does not change a SwiftPM package, Package.swift dependency, Xcode package reference, .gitignore, workflow, or any Package.resolved file. Therefore, the SwiftPM lockfile policy is not triggered.
Full details: Cmux Swift Logging
Explanation
The pull request changes only Python CI scripts and Python tests. It adds regexes, comments, and test cases; it adds no production Swift code or logging statements. The Swift logging check is not applicable.
Full details: Cmux User-Facing Error Privacy
Explanation
PASS: The diff changes only Swift Testing failure-name regexes and regression tests in scripts/ci and tests. The changed code parses CI logs for gh-merge-green and internal red-test classification; it does not add or change cmux app UI, product CLI, or product API error text. The added quoted names remain internal CI/operator diagnostics, which this rule allows.
Full details: Cmux Full Internationalization
Explanation
PASS: The diff changes only CI parsing logic, developer comments, and regression tests in scripts/ci/ and tests/. It adds no Swift UI text, web copy, API response, catalog entry, locale file, or user-facing data. The internationalization rule explicitly allows tests and developer-only comments.
Full details: Cmux Swiftui State Layout
Explanation
The pull request changes only Python CI scripts and Python tests. It adds Swift Testing failure-name regexes and regression tests. The diff contains no Swift or SwiftUI view/state/layout changes, so the SwiftUI state-layout check does not apply.
Full details: Cmux Architecture Rethink
Explanation
The pull request changes only Python CI parsers and Python tests. The diff adds quoted Swift Testing name matching and regression coverage. It does not change Swift architecture or introduce sleeps, polling, locks, observers, side channels, duplicate wiring, or split UI lifecycle ownership.
Full details: Cmux Swift Auxiliary Window Close Shortcuts
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only Python CI scripts and Python tests. It adds no Swift, NSWindow, NSPanel, SwiftUI Window, or WindowGroup code, so the auxiliary-window close-shortcut rule is not applicable.
Full details: Cmux Source Artifacts
Explanation
All four changed paths are hand-written Python source or regression-test files: scripts/ci/base_red_excuse.py, scripts/ci/test_reds.py, tests/test_base_red_excuse.py, and tests/test_test_reds.py. The diff adds regex logic, comments, and focused tests. It adds no logs, screenshots, recordings, temporary or cache directories, dependency checkouts, build output, or broad artifact directories.
Full details: Cmux No Test Or Debug Seam In Production Source
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only Python CI scripts and Python tests. The authoritative diff contains no Swift files under a production Sources/ path, so it introduces no production Swift test or debug seam.

Match display names that contain double quotes.
The quoted alternative \"[^\"\n]*\" stops at the first inner ". A display name such as "A \"quoted\" name" matches neither alternative, so read drops that failure. When no other failure exists, classify returns None. The same pattern appears in TESTS in scripts/ci/base_red_excuse.py, so apply the change there too.

Identify Swift Testing failures beyond their display name.
The new ✘ Test "…" alternative records only the quoted display name. Two tests with the same display name compare equal in Head.mismatch. A new head failure can then be excused as a base failure. Record a suite or source location with each display name, and compare that identity.
Scope of the trigger
The collision needs two failing tests with the same display name in the same job, one on the head and one on the base. The head and base must also have the same failed steps and no crash or truncation.

Keep the suite identity when comparing display-named failures with the base.
Display-named failures are compared by quoted label alone. When the base fails a different test with the same label, a new head failure is reported as a base red.
Context
FAILED stores only the quoted label, so "Shows help" in suite A and "Shows help" in suite B become one entry. classify then subtracts the base set, so the head-only failure is dropped and own is False.

Correctness review (fresh subagent), head 69452f5: PASS
The quoted alternative only applies when the text after ✘ Test starts with ". Replaying every line of 8 real CI logs gave the same capture on every line the old regex matched (0 changed). Parameterized name() forms are unchanged. A display-named parameterized red is captured without its arguments, so the name is stable from run to run.
test_reds.classify compares FAILED captures the same way on both sides. STARTED and FINISHED only feed the truncation checks, so display names add no new "never finished" reports.
In base_red_excuse, a job whose only reds are display-named now takes the same failing-test path as a name() job, not the noisy error:-line comparison. A mixed job is now stricter: a new display-named red next to a name() red used to be invisible.
Edge (not new, fails closed): a display name with an embedded quote falls back to the old .+?\) branch.
152 unit tests OK. Real-log replay of PR 35296 shard 2 against main: old Head.mismatch refused on [ProcessSuspension] … error: lines; new returns None, with the 3 shared tests named on both sides.
