cmux NEXT: remove New Worktree from the composer location bar - #29803
Conversation
…on bar The bar above the composer holds the folder and the machine only. New Worktree stays an action in the folder menu, as it was before #22131 gave it a control of its own. Conflicts: - webviews/test/new-tab-warm-first-frame.test.ts: base's #29803 removed New Worktree from the composer location bar (it lives in the folder menu only) and expects "atlas cosmic-gray ::"; this PR names the local machine "This Mac". Kept both intents: the two warm-first-frame expectations now read "atlas This Mac ::". Also after the merge: - webviews/test/computer-picker-onboarding.test.ts: re-formatted with vp fmt so base's formatter config passes on this PR's edits. Leo, 2026-10-31: "WHO THE F*** PUT FING WORKTREE ON THERE" / "OURS IS FING STUFF" / "STUPID".
This successor carries the exact reviewed head of #29663 after its original coordinator provenance became unlandable. The bar above the cmux NEXT composer now holds only the project and machine pickers; New Worktree remains available from the folder menu.
The carried commits remove the standalone New Worktree control and its handler, update environment picker interactions and gallery plays to use the folder menu, and cover the location bar and folder-menu behavior in tests. No product changes were added beyond the original ask.
Takes back #29059: Leo’s 2026-10-31 ask explicitly removes New Worktree from the location bar while preserving the folder-menu action.
