web: an agent link with a private reference says so instead of "missing parameters" - #25302
Agent session links posted in public places can now name the session by a private reference, https://cmux.com/deeplink/agent?id=aid-<20 hex>, instead of carrying its harness, session and machine. On this page such a link read as broken: "This link is missing required parameters: harness, session".
Change
deeplink-agent.ts: AGENT_REFERENCE_PATTERN (^aid-[0-9a-f]{20}$) and agentReference(params), which returns the reference only when the link has no session.
page.tsx: for such a link the page says it names a session by a private reference and does not open from this page, and shows no native URL or Open button. A malformed id is still a link with no session.
en.json: one new string, deeplink.agent.reference. Other locales fall back to English through the existing message merge.
What this does not do: the page never resolves a reference. No table, key, endpoint or lookup ships here, and the reference itself is not echoed into the page. Readable links (harness, session, ...) behave exactly as before.
Before / after (rendered text, /deeplink/agent?id=aid-0123456789abcdef0123):
Before: "This link is missing required parameters: harness, session" / "Native URL: cmux://agent" / "Fix the URL parameters, then reload this page."
After: "This link names an agent session by a private reference, not by its machine or session. It does not open from this page; team members look the reference up with their own tools."
Tests: bun test tests/deeplink-agent-page.test.tsx tests/deeplink-agent.test.ts: 59 pass, 0 fail (new: a private reference shows its message, no Open, no native URL and no echo of the id; a malformed reference is a missing-session link). bunx tsc --noEmit clean.
Risk: low. One page branch that only fires for a link with a well-formed id and no session.
…f "missing parameters"
Agent links posted in public places can name the session by a private
reference (`/deeplink/agent?id=aid-<20 hex>`) instead of its harness and
session. The page read that as a broken link ("missing required parameters:
harness, session").
It now says the link names a session by a private reference and does not
open from this page, and shows no native URL. The page never resolves the
reference: no table, key or lookup ships here, and the reference itself is
not echoed. A malformed `id` is still a link with no session.

Agent deeplinks now recognize private-reference IDs when no session parameter is present. The page shows a reference-specific message and omits the native URL and fallback text. Tests cover valid and malformed IDs.
Changes: Agent deeplinks
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Private reference ID parsing web/app/[locale]/(landing)/deeplink/[kind]/deeplink-agent.ts
Adds a parser for IDs matching aid- followed by 20 lowercase hexadecimal characters. It returns null when the ID does not match or a session parameter is present.
The page displays reference-specific text and omits the native URL and fallback text for private-reference links. English text and tests cover this behavior and malformed IDs.
Private-reference agent links now explain that they cannot be opened from this page. The page still shows an intro that says the link opens the session. Non-English visitors see the new explanation in English. Neither issue breaks the flow, so the PR can merge with a small follow-up.

Full details: Cmux Cloud Persistent Session And Early Input
Explanation
PASS: The diff changes only the web agent deeplink parser, page rendering, English text, and related tests. It does not change Cloud terminal creation, persistent cmux-tui transport, manual panes, PTY readiness, input routing, authentication, leases, revisions, or snapshot handling. The custom rule is therefore not applicable.
Full details: Cmux Swift Blocking Runtime
Explanation
The pull request changes only TypeScript, TSX, JSON, and test files. No .swift files are changed, and the added lines introduce no Swift blocking or timing synchronization. The custom check is not applicable.
Full details: Cmux Browser Automation Off-Main
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only web deeplink TypeScript, translations, and tests. It does not modify Sources/TerminalController.swift, ControlCommandExecutionPolicy.swift, socketWorkerMethods, browser automation routing, or any browser.* socket command. The browser WebKit wait off-main check is therefore not applicable.
Full details: Cmux Cache Substitution Correctness
Explanation
PASS. The diff adds direct query-parameter validation and a conditional UI message for a private agent reference. It does not replace an authoritative read with a cache, and it does not touch persistence, history, undo, or snapshot paths. The helper reads params.id and params.session directly, while the page renders the result without storing or resolving it.
Full details: Cmux No Hacky Sleeps
Explanation
The PR adds URL parsing and conditional page rendering only. The reviewed diff introduces no sleep, timer, polling, fixed backoff, delayed dispatch, or wall-clock wait in production code. The added tests use async rendering but add no timing scaffold.
Full details: Cmux Algorithmic Complexity
Explanation
The diff adds no scalable collection algorithm. agentReference performs constant-time property/type checks and tests a regex with an exact 20-character bound (deeplink-agent.ts:187-194). The page adds one guarded function call and no scan. Existing .find, .filter, .map, and parameter iteration are unchanged and operate on fixed link metadata or the existing query-parameter handling. No nested scan, batch rescan, join, sorting, or unbenchmarked 1000-record path is introduced.
Full details: Cmux Swift `@Concurrent`
Explanation
The pull request changes only TypeScript, TSX, and JSON files. It introduces no Swift code, Swift concurrency annotations, or Swift async call sites. The cmux Swift @concurrent check is therefore not applicable.
Full details: Cmux Swiftpm Lockfiles
Explanation
The pull request changes only web TypeScript, JSON, and test files. It does not change SwiftPM packages, Xcode projects, .gitignore, workflows, dependency pins, or Package.resolved files. The SwiftPM lockfile policy therefore has no applicable failure condition.
Full details: Cmux User-Facing Error Privacy
Explanation
PASS. The changed agent deeplink page is a concrete cmux user-facing path, but its new message exposes no private reference, session id, token, provider name, or implementation detail. It uses the generic product terms “private reference,” “machine,” and “session,” and the reference branch suppresses the native URL and recovery copy. The implementation returns the reference only for validation and does not render it; the added test also verifies that the reference is not echoed.
Full details: Cmux Swift Auxiliary Window Close Shortcuts
Explanation
The pull request changes only TypeScript, TSX, JSON, and test files under web/. It adds no Swift code and does not add or modify any standalone cmux-owned window. The Swift auxiliary-window close-shortcut rule is therefore not applicable.
Full details: Cmux Source Artifacts
Explanation
The diff changes only intentional product source, a localization catalog, and a test: deeplink-agent.ts, page.tsx, en.json, and deeplink-agent-page.test.tsx. No local output, generated log, screenshot, cache, build output, temporary directory, dependency checkout, or broad artifact directory is added.
Full details: Cmux Full Internationalization
Explanation
The PR adds the user-facing deeplink.agent.reference message and renders it through next-intl, but it changes only web/messages/en.json. web/i18n/routing.ts lists 20 supported locales, and the key is missing from all 19 non-English catalogs: ar, bs, da, de, es, fr, it, ja, km, ko, no, pl, pt-BR, ru, th, tr, uk, zh-CN, and zh-TW. The loader falls back to English, but the custom check requires matching entries in every supported locale.
Resolution
Add a translated deeplink.agent.reference entry to each of the 19 missing web/messages/*.json catalogs. Keep the key and message structure consistent with web/messages/en.json, then verify all locales listed in web/i18n/routing.ts contain the entry.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
Docstring coverage is 75.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 4 functions across 3 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Remove the conflicting intro for private-reference links.
When reference is present, this branch says the link does not open from this page. The intro rendered at web/app/[locale]/(landing)/deeplink/[kind]/page.tsx Line 423 still uses web/messages/en.json Line 5010, which says the link opens the session in cmux. Suppress that intro for a reference link or replace it with reference-specific copy.

Add deeplink.agent.reference to every supported locale catalog.
When agentReference(resolvedSearchParams) returns a reference, DeeplinkPage calls t("agent.reference"). Non-English catalogs do not define this key, so loadMessages supplies the English value. The visitor sees English text instead of a localized message. This violates the repository's full-internationalization rule.
