working-directory lookup to remove nil values before matching. In the
`transcriptCwd` selection, compact `launch` and `runtime` into non-optional
paths before passing candidates to `encodedProjectDirectoryName(forPath:).
- Around line 84-88: Update the transcript component lookup to select the
“projects” component belonging to the Claude directory, rather than the first
occurrence in the path; then extract the following component while preserving
the bounds check and nil fallback.
- Around line 91-94: Update encodedProjectDirectoryName(forPath:) to use
ClaudeProjectSlug.slug(forWorkingDirectory:) so its output matches the
transcript project directory naming for all path characters.

main -> feat-cmux-next sync (2026-10-14, bead cx-q1lnl): this PR added 4 file(s) under the legacy macOS app / legacy Swift packages, which feat-cmux-next (the cmux-next rewrite) has deleted. The sync removes them on feat-cmux-next only (main is unchanged):
No action is needed on main. |
Claude Code auto-resume selects the directory that owns the session transcript, including worktrees with punctuation or non-ASCII paths and transcript paths containing an earlier
projectsdirectory. Hook binding publication and app-side lookup use the canonicalClaudeProjectSlugencoding.Legacy session records no longer let an unrelated process that reused their PID block restore, even when the current process generation is unavailable. Process classification lives in
CmuxWorkspacesas a separately tested value policy. Confirmed process absence overrides an earlier identity snapshot, and the app probes process presence only when existing evidence is inconclusive. This builds on the transcript and cwd analysis in #6741 by @endmoseung and #4428 by @ohade; thanks for the prior investigation.
Validation:
Scoped local checks and Swift syntax parsing pass.
The two cwd regressions failed on
c9371cedc02(run) and passed on6b7540ad70d(827 CMUXAgentLaunch tests). Later runs reuse those identical package inputs. The process-exit regression failed for both legacy and saved identities on
047765a6b5a(run) and passed onfd573ffd22b(319 package tests).Final CI passed: app-host changed suites executed 921 tests with zero failures, and all CLI regression shards passed (run).
All five review threads are resolved; GitHub reports the PR as mergeable and clean. Local Swift syntax validation passed for all 11 changed Swift files.
No live reboot dogfood was performed.
Changelog
Fixed Claude Code session restore cwd selection and reused PID admission after reboot.
