Mac's binding on first dial, and connects relay-only. Journal:
`simctl get_app_container <udid> <bundle> data` + `Documents/irx-journal.jsonl`.

## Physical INTERNAL journal

For a live view of the iROH journal from the attached cmux INTERNAL phone, run
this from the cmux checkout:

```bash
./scripts/stream-ios-logs.sh
```

The default target is Aziz's iPhone and `dev.cmux.app.internal`. The viewer
subscribes to the `IrxJournal` OSLog NOTICE events, so it does not repeatedly
copy the growing JSONL file and does not relaunch or mutate the app. Press
Ctrl-C to stop. To include recent context before the live stream:

```bash
./scripts/stream-ios-logs.sh --tail-lines 100
```

The viewer resolves the CoreDevice identifier to the USB UDID required by
`idevicesyslog`, then filters by the INTERNAL app's current process ID. This
keeps logs from stale DEV bundles installed on the same phone out of the
default stream. If INTERNAL is still starting, the command waits briefly for
its process; use `--all` only when you intentionally want every cmux process.

The stream uses `idevicesyslog`, available from `brew install libimobiledevice`.

Usage: scripts/stream-ios-logs.sh [options]

Stream the live iROH journal from the attached cmux iOS app. The default
device and bundle are Aziz's iPhone and cmux INTERNAL.

Options:
--device-id <id> iOS device identifier
--bundle-id <id> iOS bundle used for --tail-lines (default: dev.cmux.app.internal)
--tail-lines <count> Print this many existing journal lines before streaming
--match <text> Local OSLog substring filter (default: irx)
--all Stream all cmux process logs instead of only iROH events
--wait-seconds <count> Wait for INTERNAL to start when it is not running (default: 15)
--no-colors Disable idevicesyslog color output (default)
-h, --help Show this help

The live stream comes from OSLog. Press Ctrl-C to stop it. A tail snapshot is
optional and is copied once from Documents/irx-journal.jsonl before streaming.
Install the stream dependency with: brew install libimobiledevice

Cleanup rm errors on empty paths

Low Severity

cleanup always passes all four snapshot variables to rm -f, including ones still empty. On a normal run some temps are never created, so exit prints invalid-argument errors from rm.

Ctrl-C ignored during process wait

Low Severity

The INT/TERM trap runs cleanup and then returns, so the script keeps running. Ctrl-C during UDID resolution or the process wait is swallowed instead of stopping the viewer.

Replace the polling startup wait with an explicit readiness signal.

Line 232 polls process state with a fixed one-second delay. A launch that takes longer than --wait-seconds fails even when it later succeeds. Use an owner-provided lifecycle notification, or fail closed and require the caller to start INTERNAL before invoking this script. Remove --wait-seconds and update its documentation.

As per coding guidelines, “Do not use fixed sleeps, delayed dispatch, timers, polling, or wall-clock waits to mask ... startup ... races.”

Refresh the PID filter after process restarts.

resolve_target_pids runs only before the long-lived idevicesyslog | awk pipeline starts. If the INTERNAL process relaunches with a different processIdentifier, awk does not add the new PID to wanted. It can therefore discard the new cmux[PID] lines while the stream remains active. Refresh the PID set from an explicit lifecycle signal, or require a new invocation when the process changes. Add a test for an INTERNAL restart during an active stream.

[warning] 241-241: set +e (or set +o errexit) disables the shell's errexit option, so the script keeps running after a command fails. This masks failures of security-critical operations (downloads, signature/checksum verification, permission changes, cleanup of secrets), letting the script proceed with a bad or insecure state. Leave errexit enabled (set -e / set -euo pipefail), or handle failures explicitly with if/|| and an explicit exit instead of globally turning off failure detection.
