Housekeeping

I did some housekeeping in order to make it easier to contribute to package.
List of changes follows:

• readme updates (wrapping at 80 cols, ensuring secure links are used, includes Fix browserify -r syntax in README #9 / Fix readme for replacing browserify-fs with fs #18)
• package.json updates (adding required metadata & new dev dependencies)
• linting codebase using ESLint (using semistandard config)
• adding license file + package.json field (extends Added license to package.json #19)
• addition of test suite (testing functionalities using jest, in contrast to Add test & update dependencies #15 this is done inside node using spec compliant IndexedDB mock - fake-indexeddb)
• cosmetic changes (addition of .editorconfig, updating .gitignore, addition of .npmrc to prevent package-lock.json creation)

I tried my luck fixing security issues discussed in #20 & #13 but couldn't find working combo of dependencies due to transient level-filesystem issues 🤷‍♂
