Welcome to the leapstergs-buildroot wiki!
Added a couple more libretro core builds to the compiled cores repo below.
New Git Repository for Compiled Cores
I have started adding compiled cores to a new repository at https://github.com/andymcca/libretro-cores-leap. These will either be based on git snapshots or core releases as appropriate. These can be downloaded and then added to a Retroleap installation (LF2000 and LF3000 devices only) using scp or WinSCP.
Gmenu2x ported
romanaOne on the gbatemp forum has ported gmenu2x which is a frontend allowing quick access to Retroleap and other games/apps! Please be aware that this is only for the LeapsterGS Explorer. More info on gmenu2x here - https://wiki.dingoonity.org/index.php?title=Gmenu2x romanaOne's post including link to gmenu2x for Retroleap zip - https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-hack-the-leapfrog-leapstergs-handheld-console.479301/#post-8932355
Not all LeapPad 2s are the same....further Info at Spiffy Hacks
There is a thread over at the Spiffy Hacks forum https://spiffyhacks.com/thread-1187.html regarding retroleap, which contains more useful information including button mapping fixes for variant LeapPad2 boards.
Additional notes on cores based on recent testing and experimenting
The cores referenced in the buildroot are now very old (e.g. mgba 0.5.1, current version is 0.9.2!), and some do not compile due to issues which have since been resolved (e.g. pcsx-rearmed duplicate function issue, this was resolved in 2019). I have been building cores from the relevant github repositories using a workaround, and I will share these and a solution when I have more time. The included version of gpSP appears to work more reliably by disabling the Dynarec (load a game, go back to the Quick Menu, then Options and disable Dynamic Recompiler). For example, Mario Golf Advance Tour will usually restart back to BIOS on player selection, but disabling the Dynarec allows you to go all the way in-game.
