Use XDG Portal for folder picker for Linux for the desktop app #1903

Is your feature request related to a problem?
I'm using KDE and seeing GTK file picker was unexpected.
Which solution do you suggest?
Use an XDG Portal for calling a file picker which would be native to the Linux Desktop being used.
Which alternative solutions exist?
Continue using GTK file picker for all DEs. It may stay as a fallback if a portal wouldn't work.
Additional context
I use an AppImage desktop app on my Fedora KDE 42.
