Hacking street harassment (2014)

Hollaback!, aimed at ending street harassment, releases a video showing a woman walking through NYC for 10 hours, receiving hundreds of examples of unwelcome attention. 6 million views in 24 hours, many articles, tweets, comments responding to the video. Many men calling the attention appropriate, some people saying it feeds off class+race anxiety. The issue is universal, a similar hack in Egypt shows, and both videos capture something that resonates with most women, but can be hard to explain to men.

"An AI That Annoys Telemarketers For As Long As Possible" (2016)

Jolly Roger Telephone Co is a project by Roger Anderson that tries to get back at telemarketers by keeping them on the line as long as possible, without any human intervention. Gizmodo has some coverage here.
