Marking as draft until Godot 4.3 is released which should be somewhere between March and April.

I'm not sure if there's a header guard we can use to keep backwards compatibility with 4.2.1.

I'm not sure if there's a header guard we can use to keep backwards compatibility with 4.2.1.

It would be extra maintenance to keep backwards compatibility like that. So for development and release, I'm targeting the latest stable Godot Engine and keep a branch for the previous minor engine version. With that in mind, it makes sense to switch when release candidate is around the corner, and typically, no sooner than beta3 is released. And I also take into consideration the proximity of LimboAI's release. Porting became much easier with Godot Engine changing its release cadence, and last time it took me only a few hours to bring code up to date with the Godot's master branch.
