  1. Fixes the issue where setx was truncating PATH Environment variable on Windows when > 1024 characters
  2. Made some Misc fixes to the NSIS Script so that the user is able to see the log during installation/uninstallation

Fixes #2587.

Hi @blueelvis. Thanks for your PR.

I'm waiting for a kubernetes member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

I understand the commands that are listed here.

I'm not familiar with this format - but shouldn't .DESCRIPTION be indented the same amount as .PARAMETER?

It looks to be properly indented in my IDE -

This looks great. I regret that we have no automated testing of the installer at the moment, so I will have to trust you that this does the right thing with >1024 PATH values.

Truncated PATH's have been a long-standing user complaint, but until now no one has stepped forward to contribute a fix. Thank you for being the one to do so!

Thanks! I do have the following questions though -

  1. Is there any need for an installer which can do silent installations? Maybe we can then write some tests as well to check the PATH variable and ensure that minikube version returns proper output?
  2. I downloaded the latest installer after this PR was merged but I didn't see this new code in the installer. Are releases not continuous for this?

Hello I tried the same process to add Minikube to my path bu It's giving me this error.
I'm new to K8s so don't mind my small knowledge.
