Keep production Vectorize reindex under the deploy timeout - #1650
Conversation
The post-deploy capability reindex is a single synchronous sweep that already took 103s on the last green production deploy and now exceeds the 120s curl limit, failing main with no response body. Bound each request to a 70s budget, return a resume cursor, and loop CI until complete. Co-authored-by: me <me@kentcdodds.com>
π WalkthroughWalkthroughCapability reindexing now runs as time-bounded, cursor-resumable sweeps. The worker reports completion metadata across all vector phases. Deployment CI repeats requests until completion, and invalid requests return HTTP 400 responses. ChangesResumable reindex flow
Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes Merge Risk: π΅ Low Β· up to The PR changes production reindexing to use time-bounded resumable sweeps, reducing single-request deploy failures, but package resume behavior still warrants owner follow-up and a worst-case eight-sweep run could consume much of the deployment job budget. The change is mergeable with explicit awareness of these bounded risks. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

Package reindex only checked the deadline while loading manifests, then embedded and upserted every already-loaded row in one shot. Flush every 16 rows (same batch as other kinds) and stop after a flush once the budget is gone so deploy CI still gets a cursor before curl times out. Co-authored-by: me <me@kentcdodds.com>
