What is it?

profitAlgo is an algorithm that converts a proficiency-based grade (a grade from 1 to 4) into a percentage.

Why?

My high school has started to use proficiency-based grades instead of percentages. I've used percentage/letter grades my whole life. Myself and others feel that percentages are better than proficiency-based grades for many reasons, one of them being because only having 4 grades is too broad and doesn't make as much sense as percentages/letters.

How to use it

1. Download

Firstly, on any OS, you would navigate to https://github.com/keeganjk/profitAlgo. Once on this page, click the button that says "Clone or Download" and then "Download as ZIP".

If you are on Unix (Linux, macOS, or BSD), you can type git clone https://github.com/keeganjk/profitAlgo into the terminal to clone this repository and then mv into the directory. If you do this, skip to step 3.

2. Extract files and run index.html

Nextly, extract the ZIP file and then move into the profitAlgo folder and run index.html.

3. Click button

Finally, just click the button that says "Convert Grade" and input your proficiency-based grade!
