glamor acceleration in xorgxrdp

jsorg71 edited this page Sep 11, 2024 · 2 revisions

Glamor is an xorg module that used EGL and OpenGL to accelerate the 2D operations in Xorg. It is enabled in xorgxrdp with the --enable-glamor configure option.

Glamor uses GBM and Epoxy to access the OpenGL calls. It works with Mesa drivers only. It does not work with NVivia propitiatory driver installed.

NVidia cards can use glamor with with open source nouveau drivers as they are Mesa. Unfortunately, you can not use CUDA or NVENC with the Mesa open source nouveau driver.

Mesa drivers tested include Intel - i915 AMD - amdgpu radeon
