Without an account it works as before (starting amount + savings linked to the goal, or an amount tracked by hand). Migration: finance.goals.account_id (FK, ON DELETE SET NULL).
• Investments never count: brokers, cards and loans cannot be followed (API validation + filtered select).
• Record → which goal? Recording a month's savings allocation highlights Is this for a goal? in quick add; picking a goal that follows an account sets that account as the destination, so the goal moves.
• Goal cards show "Follows "; page subtitle and README explain where progress comes from.
• AI write tools keep the link on update and refuse add to goal for a goal that follows an account; the JSON archive round-trips it.

• dotnet test — 363 passed locally (new: goal follows a savings account's balance, transfers count, card refused)
