Summary

  • Bump uuid from ^8.3.2 to ^14.0.0.
  • uuid v14 is shipped as a pure ESM package (no CommonJS export), so require('uuid') no longer works. Switched to a lazy dynamic import('uuid') for the v1 generator and propagated async through getUniqueOutputName -> getOutputPath -> the reporter's processor / onRunComplete.
  • Updated tests to await the now-async APIs.

Test plan

  • NODE_OPTIONS=--experimental-vm-modules npm test -- 4 suites, 51 tests pass, 2 snapshots pass

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

uuid v14 is published as a pure ESM package with no CommonJS export,
so it can no longer be loaded via require(). Switch to a lazy dynamic
import() for the v1 generator and propagate async through the output
path resolution and reporter processor. Tests updated to await the now
async APIs.

Does it need to be uuid v1? could it be uuid v4 (i.e. just use crypto.randomUUID()?). Making everything async due to this seems unfortunate. Maybe ESM conversion?

if you want it to be timestamp etc, maybe v7 is better?

Only place this is used is if someone specifies the uniqueOutputName option and the UUID is used to create a unique xml filename for the junit report
