fix(bootstrap): do not reinstall brew casks on content drift - #12222
Conversation
Treat schema-2+ cask receipts as installed when recorded targets still exist at the expected path kinds. Content fingerprints remain for prune and adopt safety, but hashing app trees on every status/apply was slow and caused unnecessary /Applications swaps that revoke macOS TCC grants. Symlinks must retain their recorded destinations and resolve successfully. Tests and documentation cover content drift, missing targets, type changes, and dangling links. ChangesCask receipt status

Greptile SummaryThe PR changes schema-2+ brew-cask health checks from content fingerprinting to presence and target-kind validation while retaining strict symlink destination and resolution checks.
Confidence Score: 5/5The PR appears safe to merge. No blocking failure remains; the prior dangling and retargeted symlink issue is addressed by validating both the recorded link destination and target resolvability. Important Files Changed

Keep app/font install health presence-based to avoid TCC resets, but compare recorded symlink destinations (readlink) and require they resolve so dangling or retargeted binaries/completions remain repairable on apply. Co-authored-by: jdx <jdx@users.noreply.github.com>

Summary
mise bootstrap packages applyno longer treats content changes inside an already-installed brew-cask app as "missing."Previously, schema-2+ receipts compared full content fingerprints on every status/apply. Any drift (self-update without
auto_updates, writing into the bundle, etc.) made the cask look missing, so the next apply re-swapped/Applications/*.appand macOS revoked TCC grants (Accessibility, Screen Recording, …). Fingerprinting large app trees also made converge slow even when nothing needed installing.Changes
readlinkand require the link to resolve, so dangling or retargeted links stay repairable (addresses review feedback).Test plan
