📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughHTTP downloads retain safe filenames from final redirect URLs. The backend uses these filenames for format detection and cache keys. End-to-end tests cover redirected archives, explicit formats, raw executables, and lockfile URL preservation. Documentation reflects the new detection behavior. ChangesRedirect-aware format detection

Greptile SummaryThe PR detects archive formats from validated final-redirect filename hints while preserving the configured URL for download identity and user-facing state.
Confidence Score: 5/5The PR appears safe to merge. No blocking failure remains; the current resume paths retain the filename associated with the initial partial bytes and clear both bytes and metadata together when restarting. Important Files Changed

Summary
Implementation
The HTTP downloader now returns only a validated basename hint from the final response URL. The HTTP backend uses that hint after explicit format configuration and before the original URL when selecting an extraction format. Redirect-derived extraction details are included in the cache identity, including a hash of the effective destination name for single-file compression, so equal payloads redirected as different filenames cannot share an incompatible extraction cache.
Resumable download metadata stores only the validated basename, never the full redirect URL, query string, fragment, credentials, or authorization headers. Windows-invalid and control characters are rejected. The redirect E2E uses an isolated temporary directory and port file for each run.
