Download and install kafka: http://kafka.apache.org/downloads.html
- Start zookeeper:
<ZOOKEEPER_HOME>/bin/zkServer.sh start-foreground ../conf/zoo_sample.cfg - Start kafka:
<KAFKA_HOME>/bin/kafka-server-start.sh config/server.properties - Create the kafka topic:
<KAFKA_HOME>/bin/kafka-topics.sh --create --zookeeper localhost:2181 --replication-factor 1 --partitions 1 --topic <TOPIC> - Send messages using kafka:
<KAFKA_HOME>/bin/kafka-console-producer.sh --broker-list localhost:9092 --topic <TOPIC>
