This completes the main project development of the last two years. This is a cumulative release of all the pre-releases since v1.1.1. The only really new thing here is updated project documentation, including the Doxygen generated files. Also the README.md now contains an experimental comparison between this project's translation server and those of Oister, Moses and Moses2. This comparison includes an investigation on software performance scaling with increasing the number of translation threads on multi-core machines.

Scores to the MAX Pre-release
Pre-release

This release contains the following two main improvements:

  • The parameter tuning scripts for the decoding server. These allow to tune the lambda parameters of the server in order to improve the translations' BLEU scores.
  • Integration of the complete NLTK and Stanford Core NLP based scripts for text pre and post processing. These scripts support text processing for most European languages and also Chinese.

The priority must Pre-release
Pre-release

This pre-release contains a few bug fixes, code improvements, documentation updates and a new feature.

Most importantly there is a run-time synchronization bug fixed in the balancer job that caused the application to crash. Another major issue fixed is for reading the configuration files, now the configuration file line can be up to 1024 ASCII characters long, allowing to load, e.g., longer lambda values for the translation server.

The main new feature introduced into the processor, balancer and translator servers as well as their clients is translation job priorities. It is now possible to indicate the job priority and the jobs with higher priorities will be executed sooner than the jobs with lower priorities.
